Kournikova has never played a competitive singles match against Myskina on the Sanex WTA Tour.

Like Kournikova, Anastacia Myskina was also born in Moscow and just a month after Anna K. She is currently ranked at number 85 on the tour computer.

Myskina swept through her first round match on Wednesday with a comfortable 6-3, 6-2 win over Croatian Iva Majoli.

While her opponent impressed, Kournikova will just be glad to be back on court again. The 20th ranked Russian has played only one tournament since suffering a stress fracture in her left foot in February.
